My Story
Ever since I was a little kid, I was always fascinated by cars and their mechanical aspects. By the time I could negotiate a pair of scissors, I was off building different cars and mechanical objects using things around the garage and, especially, cardboard. I was taught from a young age how to use power tools and the mechanics of engines and motors. My passion is taking things from around the house and creating ride-on toys/cars. My parents call me a bit of a junk collector. Hence, the creation of "Junk to Joy". My neighbors have given me their used bike trailers, a first generation e-bike, a hover board and a mini Segway! I have taken these apart and re-used the parts to create new mini cars. In addition, I have modified, several times over, a full size go kart and swapped the gasoline engine with an electric motor.

I am a self-taught woodworker, electronic components tinkerer (sometimes accidental destroyer!), coder, and lover of all things car-related. I plan to major in mechanical engineering or computer engineering. I am a fast learner, having accelerated in math from Geometry to AP Calculus BC in two years and have been described as “diligent,” “reliable,” and having a “good sense of humor” by my former teachers. I dabble in music composition, all things Scott Joplin, 90s K-pop and love my dog, Gizmo!
